Hayil Quiroz

Hola, I'm Hayil Quiroz. You can call me Hal. I'm an enthusiastic teacher of Spanish-as-a-second language with a huge passion for teaching. My main objective is to help you master the Spanish language in a fun and effective manner. I have more than ten years of teaching experience, during which I have taught and shared happiness, culture, friendship and commitment with each of my students.

My classes are designed to adapt to my students' needs regardless of whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced student of Spanish. My classes are effective for students of any age. With flexible and creative methods, I teach children to take their first steps with Spanish, teenagers to express themselves confidently and adults to master the language with fluency. Regardless of age, I can help you learn Spanish.  I have worked with many diverse students, and this has allowed me to develop great flexibilty and to adapt to different styles and rhythms of learning.

More about me, I'm 32 years old, married and have two marvellous daughters. Both of my girls dream and have goals to travel, learn and explore the world. They love to paint, run, play, eat and create.

I am a happy and positive Christian, and I respect moral values. My favorite activities are walking, hiking, biking in the quiet neighborhoods where I live and was born. I also love to read or listen to articles on health, recipes and cooking, especially typical Guatemalan dishes like pepian, stews, tamales, chuchitos, and tortillas – and why not? I enjoy watching a nice movie with my family. My favorite things are talking, laughing, teaching, learning, singing, and playing the guitar. I love flowers, the color pink, Nature, animals (expecially cats and dogs), pizza, cake, pasta Alfredo, great tacos and autumn, among other things.

My life goals are to be here always for my daughters in all stages and achievements of their lives, to ensure they can attend university and have a dignified life. I want to help my family and friends with their emotional and economic needs when necessary.
 

I dream of having a family business, continuing to build our home and, one day, buy a hill-top lot to build a week-end cabin to spend great times with my family and a cute, safe space in which to teach my classes to visiting lovers of the Spanish language.  

My virtual classes are one-hour sessions using Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and WhatsApp. I also teach face-to-face classes if you´re visiting the Antigua, Guatemala area. We can arrange classes to meet your schedule. I look forward to working with you.

Terms and Conditions: You and your instructor will agree on the payment method and terms (duration of class, schedule, frequency, etc). If you choose to prepay for a package of classes, you must complete all prepaid sessions within three (3) months from the date of the last class in which you participated. That is if during the period of your prepaid classes there is a three (3) month or longer pause in instuction, you will lose the right to continue with your prepaid package of classes-- unless you and your instructor had previously agreed in writing to an extended pause in instruction. Communication with your instructor is essential!
