Hola, I'm Heidy Reyes, I am forty-two years old, I have more than twenty years experience teaching Spanish as a second language. I have worked with children, young people and adults at all levels from beginners to advanced. I have a certificate in Spanish teaching from  La Escuela Maya.
 

I love my job because through it I have been able to support my family, and I have met many interesting people from many places in the world with whom I have shared my culture and the culture of each one of my students.     I live with my husband and two children in a village called San Juan del Obispo, a picturesque town that is frequently visited by tourists for the work of its artesans in chocolate, ceramics, and wines and jellies from a fruit called nispero. It is also visited because of its active convent, which is at the same time a museum and the colonial-style church. It's located just outside of Antigua, Guatemala.
 

My family and I love animals. That's why we have two dogs and two cats that are part of our family. Incredibly, the four of them get along well. My hobbies are watching movies, reading, mainly novels about world history, watching soccer on television and playing it.
 

My oldest son works in a restaurant in the center of Antigua, and my younger son studies international pastry and at the same time works in a renowned hotel in Antigua too.
 

One of my dreams is to have my own house very soon, a dream, which as a family we are working towards because we are buying land where in a short time we will be able to start construction.
 

Also I would love to travel more through Guatemala with my whole family and to travel abroad. I know that working independently and with the support of this organization I will be able to obtain the means necessary to achieve each of my goals.
