Hola, my name is Janet Flores. I'm 62 years old and a native of Antigua, Guatemala. I have two adult children. The elder, my son Patrick Martin Maldonado Flores, is 33 years old. The younger, my daughter Daniela Stefania Maldonado Flores, is 32 years old.   

I have a pet, my tiny dog named Bella, a French toy poodle, who has been my companion for a long time since my children have been grown. 

I have worked as a Spanish teacher and received guests in my home for 32 years. I really enjoy meeting people, sharing my culture and learning the different cultures of my guests. It's super interesting! This work is a family legacy.  My also mother received guests in her home. In this way she could afford to educate me and my siblings. I also worked as a trainer, teaching baking and cake decorating in various nonprofit organizations to help women start their own businesses.

 
The experience of knowing many foreigners has enriched my life by giving me the opportunity to travel to visit my friends abroad. I've had the pleasure of traveling within the US to cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Fresno, Boston, Orlando, and Miami, I've also traveled to Canada and Switzerland to visit my students and friends.

 
Within my house, I am renting three bedrooms upstairs. The largest can accommodate up to 5 people with a private bath.  The other two bedrooms can be furnished to be shared by two or three guests. These two bedrooms share a common bathroom. 

  
If you want one of the two smaller rooms without sharing, the price is Q1500 weekly and includes two meals daily (breakfast and dinner) Monday through Friday, WiFi, hot water, a shared terrace with views of the volcanoes, shared dining room and living room, and complete immersion experience in Spanish and the daily life of my home and family.
 

The shared bedrooms cost Q1200 per person weekly with the same benefits above included.
 

Places near the house include San Sebastian Park, La Merced Church. Central Park and the center of Antigua is only ten minutes away by walking.
