Marisol Perez

Hola, my name is Marisol Perez, a Spanish-as-a-second-language teacher with more than 20 years of experience. My Spanish-language teaching certificate is from El Centro Linguistico Internaccional. I'm 43 years old and live in Ciudad Vieja, Sacatepéquez (near Antigua), a place full of history, tradition and nature that I love to share with my students.   

I have a 25-year old son and a 6-year old grandson who live with me. They are a great source of happiness and inspiration for me. My son has grown by my side and reminds me everyday of the importance of love, patience and new starts in life. I want to accompany my son in his personal and professional growth and cheer on my grandson as he takes advantage of all of life's opportunities and hopefully attends university and accomplishes his own dreams.

   
I'm also a psychologist and run my own practice. I'm passionate about both professions, which allow me to guide and join people from all over the world on their journies of learning and well-being. I am a positive, patient, empathetic and passionate teacher. I like to meet new people, share my culture and offer fun and meaningful Spanish classes.   

In my free time, I enjoy reading, listening to music and spending time with my family. My dream is to one day own my own home and to create a non-governmental organization that provides psychological help at affordable prices. As a Spanish teacher I'd like to continue to develop creative methods that inspire my students, travel to teach Spanish to people in other countries, and offer classes in which learning creates connections and personal growth.   
 

I firmly believe that teaching Spanish is a way to connect hearts, open doors and build bridges between cultures.   

My virtual classes are one-hour sessions using Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and/or other common platforms. I also teach face-to-face classes if you´re visiting the Antigua, Guatemala area. We can arrange classes to meet your schedule. I look forward to working with you.

Terms and Conditions: You and your instructor will agree on the payment method and terms (duration of class, schedule, frequency, etc). If you choose to prepay for a package of classes, you must complete all prepaid sessions within three (3) months from the date of the last class in which you participated. That is if during the period of your prepaid classes there is a three (3) month or longer pause in instuction, you will lose the right to continue with your prepaid package of classes-- unless you and your instructor had previously agreed in writing to an extended pause in instruction. Communication with your instructor is essential!
