Rita Maria

Hola, my name is Rita. I live in a neighborhood 10 minutes from the center of Antigua, Guatemala. I am a mother of three grown daughters-- 27, 25, 20. The three attend university. 

I enjoy traveling to the major tourist areas of my country like Tikal, Semuc Champey, and Lake Atitlan. Outside my country I have traveled to Mexico, Colombia, and Peru.  I enjoy painting, reading, watching movies, watching football (soccer), walking everyday, listening to music and dancing. My dream is to continue traveling, and that my daughters become professionals and continue to improve their lives and are happy. 

I have completed all of the coursework for a law degree, but, for economic reasons, I haven't completed my exams.  I have certificates in teaching Spanish as a second language from the University Da Vinci de Guatemala and from the Institute of Tourism of Guatemala (INGUAT).

I have 20 years experience teaching Spanish. I like meeting people from all over the world and helping them learn Spanish. I enjoy presenting Guatemalan culture to my students and learning about their cultures as well. I have worked with students from the US, Canada, Ireland, Australia, Japan, Korea, Israel, Russia, Germany and The Netherlands. My virtual classes are one hour sessions using Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, and/or WhatsApp. I also teach face-to-face classes if you´re visiting the Antigua area. We can arrange classes to meet your schedule. I look forward to working with you.

Terms and Conditions: You and your instructor will agree on the payment method and terms (duration of class, schedule, frequency, etc). If you choose to prepay for a package of classes, you must complete all prepaid sessions within three (3) months from the date of the last class in which you participated. That is if during the period of your prepaid classes there is a three (3) month or longer pause in instuction, you will lose the right to continue with your prepaid package of classes-- unless you and your instructor had previously agreed in writing to an extended pause in instruction. Communication with your instructor is essential!
